Inspired by Downshiftology’s “Best Baked Salmon” Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 g of salmon (2 slices of 250 g)

  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter

  • 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice

  • 3 cloves of minced garlic

  • Kosher salt (for seasoning)

  • Ground black pepper (for seasoning)

  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley

  • Olive oil

  • Slices of lemon for a decorative touch

Our Twist

  • Add olive oil in the melted butter & lemon juice mix.

  • Add the broiling stage (after the baking stage) to have a crunchy finish.

Steps

  1. Oven - Pre-heat to 190 C.

  2. Special Mix - Mix the melted butter, lemon juice, and olive oil in a small bowl.

  3. Baking Tray - Place the salmon in an aluminum baking tray.

  4. Seasoning - Spread the special mix on the salmon. Then season generously with salt & pepper.

  5. Bake - Place the baking tray with the salmon in the oven for 12 minutes at 190 C.

  6. Broil - Change the oven to top broil at 250 C. Place the salmon back in the oven for 7 minutes.

  7. Temperature Check - Remove the baking tray from the oven. Using a food thermometer, ensure that the internal temperature is ~145 C.

  8. Sit & Serve - Let the salmon sit for 2 minutes on a cooking rack or cork boards. Serve the salmon on your plate(s) & bon appétit!
