Steps
Thaw Your Steaks - Remove the steaks from the fridge for ~20 minutes.
Grill - Pre-heat your grill until it reaches to medium-high heat (~375 C).
Season Your Steaks - Brush a layer of olive oil on both sides of the steak. Then generously sprinkle Kosher salt & cracked black pepper on both side of the steak.
Check Grill Temperature - Once your grill gets close to ~375 C, then itās time to cook your steaks.
Sear the First Side - Place your steaks on the grill for 3 minutes.
Flip & Sear the Other Side - Flip your steak & then grill the other side for 3 minutes.
Let the Steaks Sit - Remember that the steaks will continue cooking internally, so turn off the grill and let the steaks sit for another 3 minutes. If your grill has a floating rack, let the steaks sit there away from the warm grill.
Check Steak Temperature - Using a food thermometer, check the steakās internal temperature to make sure it meets your desired ādone-nessā:
105°F (41°C) for rare;
115°F (46°C) for medium-rare;
125°F (52°C) for medium; or,
135°F (57°C) for medium-well
Serve - Place the steaks on your plate(s). Bon appƩtit!
Notes for Next Time
The 3-3-3 cooking time resulted in a medium steak for us. Of course, timing & doneness will vary from grill to grill. So just refer to this as a baseline.
