Our Ushuaïa Story Begins
Our first night going to Ushuaïa was the third night of our trip — by then, we had already unplugged, tanned, and hit full vacation mode at the Grand Palladium resort. This was also the first time we’d left the comfort of our all-inclusive bubble.
Little did we know that a short 15-minute walk would take us from calm to chaos — from sunbeds and poolside cocktails to heart-pounding music and flashing lights. The closer we got, the louder the bass became. The energy built with every step until the entire sky seemed to vibrate. From our resort, it sounded distant and dreamy. But standing at Ushuaïa’s gates, it felt like we were about to step inside the heartbeat of the island.
Why We Went
It’s been Duygu’s lifelong dream to experience her favorite DJs live at Ushuaïa. And now that we’re living in Stuttgart — just a two-hour flight away — that dream suddenly felt within reach. So, one quiet Sunday afternoon, over coffee on our balcony, we made it official.
We booked our Eurowings flights, locked in our stay at the Grand Palladium White Island via Booking.com, and then Duygu got to work on tickets: Calvin Harris, Armin van Buuren, and David Guetta — our favorite DJs growing up.
We even splurged on VIP tickets for Robin Schulz at Pacha — three drinks included, balcony view, and surprisingly affordable. Once everything was booked, the planning stopped and the anticipation began. All that was left to do was pack, show up, and dance.
For us, this wasn’t just a party trip. It was something we’d both wanted to experience for years — and we were finally here to live it.
The Nights We’ll Never Forget
Each night at Ushuaïa felt like its own story.
Calvin Harris Night — His closing show. The perfect mix of sunset and strobe lights. When the beat dropped as the sky turned gold, the entire crowd erupted — thousands of people moving together under one rhythm.
Armin van Buuren Night — Pure trance energy. His visuals hypnotized the crowd, and at one point, it felt like the entire place was floating. It was our favorite “value-for-money” night too — room to breathe, and space to dance.
David Guetta Night — The grand finale. A mix of exhaustion and euphoria. Every drop felt like a reminder of why we came to Ibiza in the first place.
Every night, we watched people from all over the world — hands up, eyes closed, lost in the music. Of course, there were the less glamorous parts: being squished in the crowd, jostled by strangers, or too short to see the stage. But that’s the magic of Ushuaïa — no one really cares. Everyone’s just there to feel something bigger than themselves.
After each show, crowd control was surprisingly smooth. People were herded like sheep toward the exits — some rushing for taxis, others heading to Hi Ibiza across the street, and some, like us, walking back to our hotels under the warm night air. Despite the chaos, we always felt safe. Security guards lined the streets, checking taxis and keeping things orderly. By our second night, the walk had become routine — a 20-minute cool-down after every electric show.
Drinks, Vibe & Logistics
During our first night (Calvin Harris), the crowd was so packed we could barely see the stage. We tried every angle — left side, right side, back — and eventually ended up behind the stage at a bar, taking what became our first “expensive beer break.” €18 per can. Just like that, €36 gone in two drinks.
And then came the moment we’ll never forget — a guy next to us bought his beer, turned to walk away, and seconds later came back holding a crushed cup, most of his drink spilled on the floor. The bartender didn’t replace it. Lesson learned: hold your beer.
Getting into Ushuaïa was easy. We usually arrived around 8:45 PM to be there by 9, but we quickly learned there’s no strict DJ start time. Calvin started at 9 PM, Armin at 8 PM, David at 9 PM. Our advice for next time: arrive by 8 PM to grab a decent spot before the headliner.
Being outside made it special. The open sky, the heat, the way the sound carried across Playa d’en Bossa — it felt alive. The acoustics were phenomenal, especially near the front speakers. Ushuaïa isn’t cheap (and going three nights definitely adds up), but we’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Lessons Learned & Pro Tips
Hands down, we’d go again. David Guetta’s night was our favorite — a mix of nostalgia, energy, and pure happiness. Armin’s show came close — great set, great crowd. Calvin’s set was amazing, but the crowd was just too dense to really move.
- Arrive by 8 PM if you plan to eat dinner first at your resort.
- Don’t underestimate drink prices — pre-drink (responsibly) before heading out.
- Wear comfortable shoes; spilled drinks make the floor slippery.
- Stay until the end — surprise encores are worth it.
- Don’t rush when leaving. The crowd always makes it out in good time.
Ushuaïa is intense but unforgettable — part music festival, part sensory overload, and fully worth it.
Final Reflection
After three nights at Ushuaïa and one at Pacha, we spent our last full day poolside at the Grand Palladium White Island. Yes, we could’ve taken a ferry to Formentera, but instead we stayed put — reading, relaxing, and just letting the island slow down around us.
After four nights of lights, bass, and barely any sleep, we were ready to breathe again. Looking back, it wasn’t just about seeing world-class DJs — it was about making Duygu’s dream trip come true, and realizing how music can connect everything: people, places, and moments that stay with you long after the last song fades.
