Hotel Review: Paris Las Vegas (Affordable & Central for First-Timers)

Quick Snapshot

  • Location: Center Strip, directly across from Bellagio and walkable north to Venetian or south to New York-New York

  • Stay: 6 Nights

  • Trip type: Budget-minded Vegas escape

  • Best for: First-time Vegas visitors who want central Strip access without overpaying

  • Less ideal for: Travelers seeking quiet or newer rooms

Stayed: October 2020 - November 2020

We wanted a weeklong, affordable Vegas getaway with easy Strip access — not a lavish stay, just a convenient base to enjoy the city & the state parks on a budget.

Why We Booked This Hotel

Paris made sense for one main reason: cost-to-convenience. It was priced lower than nearby Strip hotels while sitting right in the middle of everything.

Being directly across from Bellagio meant we could head north toward the Venetian or south toward New York-New York without committing to long transit. We weren’t looking for luxury — just a central, practical base that let us enjoy Vegas without overspending.

Getting to the Hotel

We rented a car since Paris offers free parking and we planned to spend time off-Strip at parks and other activities.

Getting from the parking deck to the hotel check-in isn’t intuitive. The signage helps, but it can still feel confusing — very European in that way. From the parking deck to the lobby, expect about a 10-minute walk if you don’t get turned around.

The Room (Real-World Comfort)

Nothing fancy. Nothing particularly memorable.

We booked the Bordeaux Room.

The beds were comfortable, the Strip views were solid, and getting from the room to the Strip was quick and easy. It gave us exactly what we needed: a place to sleep and reset between long Vegas days.

Location Reality Check

Vegas distances are deceptive.

From Paris, Bellagio looks like it’s right across the street — but it’s still a 5–10 minute walk. MGM Grand is closer to 30 minutes on foot. That’s just Strip math.

For first-timers, Paris is a strong location choice. If you want more quiet and less stimulation at a similar price point, hotels like Vdara or Aria are worth considering.

What We Loved

  • Elevators drop you directly into the gaming floor

  • Only a 2–3 minute walk from casino to Strip

  • Much shorter internal walks than hotels like Caesars

  • Discovering Mon Ami Gabi, which has become our go-to Vegas breakfast spot on every trip since

(We’ll save Mon Ami Gabi for its own post.)

What We’d Know Before Booking

  • Rooms are showing their age

  • The area outside Paris is busy and crowded, with tourist traps and frequent panhandling nearby

Not deal-breakers — just part of staying mid-Strip.

Who This Hotel Is Best For

Best for:

  • First-time Vegas visitors

  • Couples on short getaways

  • Travelers prioritizing Strip convenience over room polish

Less ideal for:

  • Those wanting quiet or newer accommodations

  • Travelers sensitive to crowds right outside the hotel

Bottom Line

Would we stay here again? Absolutely.

We’ve stayed at many Vegas hotels over the years, and Paris continues to be our #1 choice for cost-to-convenience. It’s central, functional, and easy — which, in Vegas, goes a long way.
