Hotel Review: Caesars Palace – Las Vegas, Nevada
Quick Snapshot
Location: Center Strip, connected to the Forum Shops and near Bellagio
Stay: Family trip, 2 nights
Trip type: Winter Vegas getaway
Best for: First-time Vegas visitors who want a classic, all-in-one resort experience
Less ideal for: Travelers with luggage, families, or anyone prioritizing ease and quiet
Stayed: December 2025
After years of curiosity — and plenty of pop-culture hype — we finally stayed at Caesars Palace to see if it lived up to its reputation.
Why We Booked This Hotel
Caesars Palace had always been on our list. It’s one of the most recognizable names on the Strip, right up there with Bellagio, and it’s been immortalized in movies like The Hangover.
This stay was part of a family trip, and we wanted to experience Caesars firsthand after years of wondering whether it really was “the” Vegas hotel. In short: curiosity finally won. In hindsight, the hype didn’t quite translate to the stay itself.
Getting to the Hotel
The scale of Caesars Palace is hard to overstate. Between the casino, Forum Shops, and six (or so) hotel towers, it’s massive.
We had a rental car, and accessing the self-parking garage was straightforward. One tip: when approaching from the Strip, turning right gets you to self-parking more easily.
From there, though, things got complicated.
The Room (Real-World Comfort)
Room type: Palace Tower (refreshed)
Getting from the parking garage to our room was the most physically exhausting arrival we’ve had in Vegas. The walk took 15–20 minutes, dragging heavy luggage across thick casino carpet, up and down steps, and through crowded areas — with no ramps along parts of the route.
You pass the gaming floor, food court, Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant, and rows of shops before finally reaching the elevators. It felt less like arriving at a hotel and more like completing an obstacle course.
The room itself was underwhelming. Despite being in a refreshed tower, it felt dated and surprisingly basic. The view looked onto the inner pool area, which was fine, but there was no usable in-room fridge, which mattered to us since we bring our own water. The décor honestly felt closer to a mid-range chain hotel than a flagship Vegas resort.
Sleep & Recovery
The room had an adjoining door, and the walls were thin enough that we could hear neighboring conversations — and even someone trying to open the adjoining door.
That said, blackout curtains worked well, and we were able to sleep in the next morning before heading out.
Location Reality Check
Caesars is designed to keep you inside.
Once you’re in, everything is there — dining, shopping, casinos — but leaving the property with groceries, water, or outside food takes effort. Finding exits isn’t intuitive, and the internal distances add up quickly.
If your goal is to stay put and treat Caesars as its own ecosystem, this works. If you like popping in and out of hotels easily, it can feel frustrating.
What We Loved
Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill being a short walk from our tower
A more affordable way to enjoy Beef Wellington and Sticky Toffee Pudding
Window shopping at the Forum Shops, which remains a highlight
Solid dining options like Sushi Roku for a date night
What We’d Know Before Booking
Internal walking distances are long and unavoidable
Luggage handling is not guest-friendly
Rooms don’t match the resort’s reputation
Exiting and re-entering the property takes patience
These aren’t minor inconveniences — they shape the stay.
Who This Hotel Is Best For
Best for:
First-time Vegas visitors
Travellers who want everything under one roof
Guests planning to spend most of their time inside the resort
Less ideal for:
Families with luggage
Travelers who value convenience and quiet
Anyone expecting luxury to match the brand name
Bottom Line
Would we stay here again? Maybe — but not confidently.
At the right price, and with the right tower, we’d consider it. But Caesars Palace felt more impressive in theory than in practice. We still enjoy visiting the Forum Shops and dining here, but as a place to stay, it didn’t live up to the legend.
