Hotel Review: Vdara Hotel – Las Vegas, Nevada
Quick Snapshot
Location: Just off the Strip, connected to Aria and walkable to Bellagio
Stay: Short Vegas getaway
Trip type: Pandemic-era reset with off-Strip exploring
Best for: Couples or business travelers who want space and quiet without leaving the Strip area
Less ideal for: Travelers who want to be in the middle of casino action or close to convenience stores
Stayed: December 2020 (returned April 2023)
Vdara wasn’t originally our first pick, but pandemic pricing made it an easy “why not?” — and it turned out to be one of our favorite Vegas stays.
Why We Booked This Hotel
Vdara usually sits at a higher price point and feels slightly removed from the Strip, which is why it hadn’t been our first choice before. Toward the tail end of the pandemic, though, prices dropped significantly on Booking.com, and we decided to give it a try.
At the time, Vdara also offered self-parking instead of mandatory valet, which helped keep costs down. For this trip, our plans focused less on the Strip itself and more on exploring beyond it — Fremont Street, Valley of Fire State Park, and other off-Strip experiences — so Vdara’s quieter setup felt like a good fit.
Getting to the Hotel
We rented an SUV from Enterprise for this trip. From baggage claim, a shuttle takes you to the rental car center — frequent, easy, and well organized.
Enterprise staff at Las Vegas airport have consistently been excellent over the years, and this trip was no exception. From the airport, the drive to Vdara was straightforward and took about 10 minutes.
The Room (Real-World Comfort)
Room type: Vdara Suite
All rooms at Vdara are suites, though it’s best to set expectations correctly. This isn’t a penthouse-style layout — think of it as a compact, L-shaped suite designed for function.
You enter into a small kitchenette and dining area, with a living space and pull-out couch facing a wall-mounted TV. The bedroom and bathroom sit just beyond a divider. The bedside tablet for controlling lights and blinds was a nice, modern touch.
The overall design feels modern and semi-luxury — comfortable enough for business travel, remote work, or slower mornings before heading out.
Location Reality Check
Vdara is close to the Strip, but not on it — and that difference matters.
Walking there can still feel confusing. Our internal cue became simple: head toward Aria’s main entrance, then follow the walkway straight to Vdara. By car, access is easy and navigation is straightforward.
There’s also a free tram connecting Bellagio, Park MGM, Aria, and Vdara, which helps once you get your bearings. And one thing you won’t forget: Vdara’s lobby greets you with that unmistakable “luxury hotel” scent the moment you walk in.
What We Loved
No on-site casino, which kept the hotel calm and smoke-free
Suites with real separation between sleeping and living areas
Mountain and Strip views thanks to the curved facade
Kitchenette and dining area that helped us save on meals
Quiet, comfortable base after long Vegas days
What We’d Know Before Booking
The walk to buy groceries can be inconvenient
The nearest CVS is about a 10-minute walk and not a straight, flat route
Carrying bulk items (like water) is a hassle without a car
With a car, these aren’t deal-breakers — just part of the tradeoff.
Who This Hotel Is Best For
Best for:
Couples who want space and calm away from casino floors
Business travelers needing a comfortable suite and work-friendly setup
Travelers who value quiet but still want Strip access
Less ideal for:
Those wanting immediate Strip energy or easy convenience-store access
Bottom Line
Would we stay here again? Absolutely — and we did.
We returned to Vdara in April 2023, even after valet parking became mandatory again.
Vdara strikes a rare balance in Vegas: space, quiet, and comfort, without completely disconnecting you from the Strip. For the right kind of trip, it’s one of our top picks.
